At Pic The Gift, we talk a lot about our capabilities. Over 3,000,000 units produced a year, 170,000 square feet of production space, 400-plus SKUs, 99.8% on-time fulfillment rate, three-day turnaround, an MOQ of 1!

Those numbers tell a great story, but what underlies them? Behind every order we ship is a set of values that guides how we make decisions, who comes to work here, how we treat each other at work, and how we support our partners every single day.

Here are the four core values that define who we are.

Continuous Improvement: Always a Better Way

We are creative, innovative thinkers who always seek out new ways to do things. No matter our role, we know we have room to grow. We stay curious, improve daily, and create new value for our partners. The print-on-demand industry moves fast. Products evolve, platforms change, and partner needs shift. We move with it.

From strategic acquisitions to ongoing investments in automation and technology, we’re always asking what’s next. When we find a better way, our partners benefit directly.

“If we’re not innovating, we’re going backwards,” says Bram Mencher, President of Operations. “We’re continuously improving processes and raising the bar, because we want to exceed our partners’ expectations.”

Positive Energy: We’ve Got Each Other’s Back

We are passionate about doing great work. We make Pic The Gift a place where people want to show up every day with inspiring energy and a positive attitude.

We win together through respect, trust, and collaboration. Pic The Gift is a team of people who genuinely care about each other and about the work. That’s how we maintain consistency across millions of units a year: through a culture of accountability, communication, and mutual support.

Our partners have reported that they feel this, too. When you work with us, you’re working with people who talk to each other, solve problems together, and show up for you like a partner should.

“When hiring, I’m looking for teammates that people are going to want to work with,” says Wes Pickering, CEO and Co-Owner. “I want you to look forward to seeing your coworkers every day.”

Dedication: Bigger Than Just a Business

We proudly take full ownership of our work, demonstrating consistency and reliability. We finish what we start without being asked.

We’re trying to make a lasting impact for our employees, their families, and future generations. Pic The Gift was founded in St. Louis in 2012, and St. Louis is home. We’re invested in the people who work here, the families they go home to, and the community that surrounds us. Our employees reciprocate that dedication, and that leads to better employee morale.

We take the value of work very seriously, and know that, for better or worse, much of a person’s self-worth is wrapped up in their job. “I want to have positive memories of having worked here,” says Chris Reimer, Director of Marketing, “and I want everyone to remember my contribution to the cause. That’s a big part of making work more than just a paycheck.”

Doing the Right Thing: Always

We always act with integrity, even when no one is watching. We choose to be humble and helpful, leaving egos at the door. Our partners entrust us with their brand, customers, and livelihood. We have much to live up to!

When something goes wrong, we own it and fix it. When we make a commitment, we keep it. Integrity lives in how we answer customer service emails, handle a remake, and follow through on our promises. “If we fail in any area, call us out on it,” says Keith Abert, COO and Co-Owner, “because we need to get better.”

It’s Important to Have a Defined Set of Values

Our values show up in how we answer our customer service inquiries, handle a return, onboard a new partner, and invest in tomorrow. They’re the reason we’ve been at this for over 14 years and counting.

Why are we sharing this information with you? Couldn’t this just be an internal initiative? First, we’re always looking to meet new Partners, so we’ll use the bullhorn of this blog to help them get to know us. Second, putting our core values out in public is a means to hold ourselves accountable. Finally, we want to tell this story in the hopes that the narrative becomes a sort of magnet that draws in those who want to join the PTG family: great coworkers, ambitious partners, and companies looking to be acquired.

If you’re looking for a print-on-demand manufacturer that cares as much about how they work as what they produce, we’d love to talk.
